I went to check Spotify's premium options and the website in Portuguese makes reference to the premium trial for 3 months. It says to click. I clicked and it says that we must enter a payment method just to stay registered in case, after the trial period, we want to keep the premium. I opted for paypal and subscribed. I immediately received the receipt charging me the €7.99 when that was not what I initially subscribed to.

I find it unbelievable how there is no direct customer support. Is it through this chat that someone from Spotify will explain this situation to me?

The offer you've mentioned is usually only for users who haven't had Premium before and it was likely displayed to you while you were logged out of the site.

 

You can reach out to Support so that they can check if you were eligible for it and why you've been charged. 🙂
