AMEX £1.00 charge for Spotify Premium Free Trial

AMEX £1.00 charge for Spotify Premium Free Trial

Hi,

Today I signed up for the 30-day free trial of Premium here:

https://www.spotify.com/uk/premium/

After entering my AMEX details I was immediately notified of a £1 Spotify transaction on my phone.

After signing into AMEX I can see 2 pending £1.00 transactions labelled:

"SPOTIFY MUSIC - SUBS - RECURRING GBP"

As these are pending transactions I'm not majorly fussed but I'd like to know if I'll be paying £2 for my "Free Premium trial" 😃

Many thanks,

P.

Hey @Pnutz84,

After signing up for a Spotify trial or Premium subscription, you may see a small charge (0.01 or similar) on your bank or credit card statement.

This is just an authorization charge to confirm the card is valid. It’s usually shown as a pending charge on your statement, but transactions can also appear as refunds. Some banks/companies may delete them from the account entirely before you even see it.

Hope this helps!
