My Question or Issue

Hello Spotify or Community Members with suggestions,

I'd like to confirm the functionality of audio book hours. I generally listen to an audio book at the end of my day or when doing simple physical work/gym etc...

I had been trying to get through a book that is about 16 hours. However, I fell asleep twice at the end of my day waking up with the book going forward 5 hours into the book. Then my hours are blocked for the month. This has happened twice now.

I cannot go back and listen to the SAME chapters I already have run my hours through. This is very frustrating. I could purchase another 15 hours, but then this is more than the cost of buying the audio book completely.

Since hours per month do not carry over (I did not listen in the past 3 months prior), I cannot use this audiobook function as it eats my hours when fall asleep listening. Then I have to wait 20+ days.

- Is there some solution here?

- Should I contact support.

- Can I confirm that other users also cannot listen to parts of books they already listened to even if they accidentally left it running?

Maybe for some books, I can turn off auto next chapter.

Hey @jeremyss2, thanks for reaching out to the Community!

I am sorry to hear this happened to you. Keep in mind that once you have reached the audiobook allotment included within Premium plans, you’ll need to purchase additional audiobook listening time. There isn’t much that can be done once the allotment included with your plan has been used. However, in the future I’d recommend setting up a sleep timer when listening to an audiobook. You can do so by selecting the audiobook that you’d like to listen to > navigate to the the Now playing view, and there, at the bottom-right of the screen you'll see the timer icon. There is more information about audiobooks included with Premium plans here

Let me know if you have any more questions.
