Cannot access my Premium account anymore after changing my phone

Solved!

Cannot access my Premium account anymore after changing my phone

Hi All,

I'm really hoping this community can help me!  I'm based in the UK.

I pay for a premium account on Spotify and have done so for about 2-3 years and I have a profile on there (Username: Grier Woodford - see attachment of photo screenshot from my phone). But when I changed from an old Samsung phone to my new one (Galaxy A52s 5G), I had to log out of my Spotify on my old phone and log in on the new one.  But for some reason it has logged me in as my original free account (Username: Grier) before I started paying for premium. I can search for my premium account and I can see myself on there (photo attached)... but I cannot access that account. I have even clicked to follow my original self on there!

I only have 1 email address so I don't understand how when I log in it only gives me access to my old free account instead of the one I'm paying for.

It's so incredibly frustrating as I have a load of playlists I want to listen to, but cannot access them properly.  There is no point me re-setting my password for my email address, because it only resets the password for the free account and not the one I'm paying for.  Also annoyed that I'm wasting money every month.

This is my last hope now...  Are the company Spotify able to respond directly and help on this?  I haven't tried to email their customer service yet. If I can't get this sorted then I'll have to cancel my premium which means losing all my play lists and liked songs etc...

Thanks

Grier

Hey @GrierA ,

Thanks for coming to the Community.

Keep in mind that the name you see on your profile is just your display name, not your actual username 🙂

Have you tried all of the things listed here yet? If you still have your old phone, you can go into the Spotify app > Settings > Account and that's where you'll be able to see your username and email address associated with your Premium account.

Let me know how it goes!
