Basic Individual plan vs any premium plan

What are the actual differences between the Basic Individual plan and the premium ones?

Looks like it might be the access to the audiobooks, but spotify doesn't make it clear.

Spotify have AGAIN put up their prices. it's $15.99 here a mth in Australia!!!!! i was told on the website that i could switch to BASIC. i asked SPOTIFY but they said it was not available, even though the site said i could...clear case of Bait and Switch....

Are podcasts included in basic, i.e. are podcasts classified as "Music" or "Audiobook" as they are kinda neither...?

Eligible users will find the option to switch to a Basic plan on their account page. In case you can't find any Basic plans listed there on your end, it means you're ineligible, I'm afraid.

Elsewhere, Spotify help screens say that only premium gets "very high quality" and only premium can download content for offline use.  And what about lossless?

Hey, @LStewart2,

The Basic plans do include the ability to download content for offline use as well as lossless audio quality - they just lack the monthly allocated audiobook listening time compared to regular Premium plans (you can unlock audiobooks as one time purchases separately even on a Basic plan if you want).

Still, it's worth noting that lossless is currently being rolled out gradually. As soon as we have any news on the topic we'll post an update on our For the Record blog.
