Hi @foxbat16,

Thanks for posting in the Spotify Community, and welcome!

I moved your post from Chat to a relevant Help board, where it fits better.

No worries, Spotify users keep all of their playlists, saved music, and settings no matter which plan they switch to or from; so if you invite the other member back to your Premium Duo plan, they’ll indeed keep their playlist.

Feel free to read more about switching between different Spotify plans in this support article

Let me know if you have any other questions, and have a good day!

Hello, thank you for your help. I guess my question is If I take someone off my duo will they keep their playlist? what would be the best way for them to get their own premium plan and keep their playlist? trying to get someone off of my duo and for them to get their own premium and keep their playlist. please be specific.
Thank you very much.

Hi @foxbat16,

Thank you for your reply!

Yes, if you remove a member from your Premium Duo plan, they’ll keep their playlist. Spotify users keep all of their playlists (as well as any saved music and their settings), no matter which plan they switch to or from. This includes the free service, which the other member’s account will immediately revert to when you remove them from your Premium Duo plan.

You can remove the other member from your Premium Duo plan by following these steps:

  1. Go to your account page
  2. Select Spotify Premium Duo in the menu on the left
  3. Under People on this plan, select the option to remove someone

Alternatively, the other member can remove themselves from your Premium Duo plan by following these steps:

  1. Log in to their account page
  2. Under Manage your plan, click Change plan
  3. Scroll to Spotify Free and click Cancel Premium
  4. Continue through to the confirmation message

These are the only two ways for someone to leave a Premium Duo plan at the moment; and in either case, their account will immediately revert to the free service.

They’ll keep their playlist when they're on the free service; however, if the playlist was downloaded for offline listening, they’ll need to re-download the playlist once they’ve subscribed to their own Premium plan (since downloading music for offline listening is a Premium feature).

Once they’ve left your Premium Duo plan and their account is on the free service, the other Spotify user can then subscribe to their own Premium plan of their choosing here
