Error when upgrading to Duo

Error when upgrading to Duo

Hello. I am currently on Premium Individual and I'd like to upgrade to Premium Duo, but when I click on the Select button for that plan from this page:

 

https://www.spotify.com/us/account/subscription/change/

 

I get this error:

error

Unable to change plans. This could be because you're not eligible for this plan, you're already on it, or you don't have a stored payment method.

------------------------------------------------

 

Any ideas? Is that because I am currently on the first-two-months trial?

 

Any hep is appreciated.

Can you try it direcfly through the following page: https://spotify.com/duo?

 

Also, it might be worth trying to use a different payment method 🙂

Thank you for yoru reply and suggetion, but when I click your link, and I then I click on the "Get Premium Duo" and then the page just refreshes and I am still there. If I keep clicking on that button, it keeps refreshing the page. Doesn't take me anywhere.

 

The URL I keep getting is this:

 

https://www.spotify.com/us/premium/?checkout-offer=default-duo-master&checkout-error=true&ref=checko...

 

Note the "checkout-error=true" parameter in the URL, that's maybe the problem? Not sure... anyway, I have added a new credit card to my account, and the problem is still there, on both the page you suggested as well as on the first page I tried (I keep getting the same error).

 

Any more ideas? Thanks again.

Can you please...

  • try it in a different browser (preferably in an incognito window)
  • try it on a different device
  • try it while connected to a different internet connection

If the issue persists, please post a screenshot of the error message (or of what you're seeing on the page where you can't go any further if there's no error message). 🙂

Thank you for your additional suggestions, I have tried everything you have suggested and I still get the error. At this point I strongly believe there is a bug in your system that prevents people in the 2-month trial from changing plan. Am I correct?

Thanks for letting me know.

 

I've had someone look into this issue and they have the following suggestion:

 

You can try is to cancel the renewal of your current subscription and then try to get Premium Duo here.

 

Keep in mind that you'll be charged when upgrsding and this will forfeit your remaining trial time and immediately change your subscription to Premium Duo.

 

If the issue persists, however, feel free to reach out to Support here.
