My Question or Issue

Hi there 🙂
I've been premium for a while. Few months ago I quit for (-caught-) a Deezer familly account, following my wife's advice.
But Deezer... bah it's simply not Spotify.

Today I stumble upon a Spotify offer running until June 30th, aiming at ex-premium-users who canceled their membership before may 16th, and that states one month premium offered then €9.99 per month.
I jump into it. It clearly says my first <Snip - Moderator Edit> bill will occure on <Snip - Moderator Edit>.

But as I look at my PayPal account, it appears I've instantly been charged <Snip - Moderator Edit> for the first month, that was supposed to be free.

I can't believe in a fake offer, I've been on Spotify website all the way through the subscription process, so it's definitely a mistake at my end.
What did I miss ?
What went wrong ?
Any help is appreciated.

Hey @Jfcustom ,

Thanks for coming to the Community 🙂

Is there any chance the PayPal account is being used for an active subscription on another account? And were you logged into your Spotify account when you were claiming the offer? 🙂

Hello Maxim, thank you for you interest.

No, my PayPal account is not linked to any other Spotify subscription, active or inactive. My familly is all into Deezer, I'm the only Spotify flag bearer.
But it's the same PayPal account I used along with Spotify for the time I've been a premium member, months ago. It shouldn't be a case.

I came through the offer on Spotify Website as I was logged in. There was my picture in the top right corner. My account was then a free account again. I can't screenshot the exact same page I saw the offer on because I'm today spoted as an already premium member, the offer doesn't display anymore. It was running up to the 30th anyway.

It's just like there has never been any offer at all. I have no confirmation of any kind, no trace no track, no proof at all. I might just be turning crazy...

Well, upon further analysis, it appears each Spotify account can only benefit from like one single offer in a lifetime. And I used it years ago on my very first subscription.
On my second subscription few days ago, Spotify remembered me and silently discaded the advertised free month.

If they can perform such a check to discard an advertised free month offer, they could also have performed this same check to NOT display at all this advertised free month offer on my account page.

It's a bit unfair. At the very least.

They took my ten bucks this time, well done, but sadly won't take any more from me by now.

Thank you @Maxim for your time and efforts 🙂
