Gift cards for Basic Individual

Would you be able to advise if buying a Spotify premium gift card from a retailer, will work if I am on the Basic Individual subscription, please?

You can use our gift cards to redeem time on an individual Premium plan - to continue paying for one, or upgrade from a free account.

Understood, I just wasn't sure if basic individual classifies as "premium", since this plan only came out recently. Which doesn't include audio books. So it should be OK to apply a gift card if I am on this plan?

Yes, the only real difference is that it's missing the audiobooks, but it's as Premium as it can be. 🙂

Looks like you're mistaken. I just found Gift Card - Spotify as per point 2:

"The Card is redeemable for full price standalone Premium Individual subscription months only and cannot be redeemed for discounted or group subscriptions (such as Premium Student, Premium Duo, Premium Family, trial offers, or offers combining Premium with other companies' products or services). The card cannot be redeemed for Spotify Basic subscriptions."

Wow. I knew that a credit card is needed for group and discounted subscriptions, but being an individual subscription it should have worked. Too bad. Thanks for the info.
