My Question or Issue

Hello, I decided to switch accounts so I stopped the premium plan on my old account and planned to use the same debit card on my new account. Spotify showed a notif that I claimed the 3 months free trial already but I can still claim premium by clicking the link https://www.spotify.com/purchase/offer/1-month/ but my region's payment settings doesn't have debit/credit (only pay by mobile, online banking, cash) but I managed to pay with my debit card on my previous account just fine while still in the same region for 2 years.

Please help, this is driving me nuts.

Hey @freecoffees, thanks for reaching out to the Community!

If you're trying to subscribe to a trial, but you can't find the payment method you want to use, then that payment method isn't available in your area.

There is some more info on this here.

In this case, I'd recommend trying to pay for Spotify using one of the payment methods available in your area, or you can purchase Gift cards online at select online retailers, or at select retail stores near you (such as electronic stores). If your country supports PayPal, you can get Spotify gift cards here as well.

I hope this clarifies things. I'll be here if you have any more questions!

Hello @Billy-J . Thank you for the suggestion.

I would prefer to pay by card as much as possible since it's the least hassle in my situation. I ended up managing to pay by card by choosing the one year premium. It is definitely weird why I could pay monthly premium with debit but I can't do it again just because I claimed my 3 months trial already.

Unrelated to this issue, I encountered more mildly annoying issues about the new UI that wasn't present in my old account (namely the like button visible next to each song in the list as well as the duplicate or make playlist option which were really handy, I don't know why they got rid of it in the new UI).

I will keep using Spotify but these experiences have disappointed me greatly.

Hey @freecoffees,

Glad to hear you found a way to get Premium 🙂

By chance, can you send me a screenshot of what you're seeing in terms of how you like songs now, compared to before?  I'd love to take a look.

This is how the UI of my old account look like. Notice the like ❤️ buttons visible.

Notice the Create Similar Playlist option.

This is the UI of my current account. Notice the lack of like buttons. I have to play each song to find the like button, otherwise, I do a 2 clicks (right click, click Like Song)

A lot of the options are gone especially the Create Similar Playlist (which I need the most because I'm migrating my personal playlists to my new account.)

The new account is currently in premium.

Thank you for your time.

Hey @freecoffees,

Thanks for getting back to me with those screenshots.

Spotify is currently testing some changes on the desktop app.

For now, the new test version is still missing several features that used to be available on the desktop app. In the meantime, if you're not satisfied with the new UI, I'd recommend adding your VOTE to this idea, that would allow you to switch between the old and the new look on the desktop app, or submit a new idea for any particular feature you would like to see make a return in the new app design.

I hope this helps. Have a nice day!
