How to solve error:"The code you've entered is invalid for your country"

How to solve error:"The code you've entered is invalid for your country"

I bought a Spotify premium subscription (12-month) for me on Amazon.com (US website) to be used for upgrade of my Spotify account registered in another country, but I got the above error message.
Now, I am caught in between 1. Spotify (subscription upgrade code "does not work for [my] country" and 2. Amazon which does not refund (nor exchange) the subscription, and did not specify that subscription codes cannot be used outside the US).
Can someone please help?
PS: Beside subscription codes, other payments methods (Visa,MC, AMEX) either do not work or are invalidated by Spotify as not matching my country.
All I want is to listen to ad-free good music, enjoy it, and relax 🙂

Hey @Dany_M,

Thanks for coming to the Community.

Unfortunately, Gift Cards can only redeemed in the country they were purchased in and the account's country setting must match as well.

This is also noted here.

Hope this clears things up 🙂

Thanks for clarifying.

Spotify is a delightful yet relatively new addition to my country. So should I understand that the only way for not losing my money is to sell my subscription code to a friend in the US? Can I post this request to US members in this Community? Please advise. Thanks.
