How to switch Spotify account created via Facebook to Premium for Family without going through hoops

I have created an account via Facebook, and so Spotify recognizes the email address that associates with the Facebook account. Upon joining the Premium for Family plan that my wife has invited me, I couldn't. Please help.

There is no way you can do this yourself at the moment. The account was created via Facebook and will not work without it.

The only way to do it is email or live chat Spotify support and let them know what you want to do, they can transfer all your accounts music anmd settings to a newly created account which takes a few minutes as long as you are verified:
