Hulu can't authorize my account

I am a student and am trying to sign up for the Hulu + Student Spotify subscription. I have been a student subscriber for a long time now, but when I try to activate my new Hulu account I get this error, "We’re having trouble authorizing your account with Spotify. Please contact Spotify support to help resolve this issue."

I had the same problem and just got it sorted out. 

I clicked on Go to Hulu and it said to log in. I had one Hulu account from long time ago and tried to login with it on Hulu but it said my account didn't exist. Naturally, I created a new account and suddenly Hulu had authorizing errors. I started talking to support teams. 

Spotify support team assured me that my plan was activated while Hulu still blamed them. Hulu's support team was of no help and just created a support ticket. They asked me for all Hulu accounts I had used in the past. While I was giving that info, I tried forgot password on the old account, it worked. This account which was hidden had the Spotify plan activated on it. Turns out Hulu is aggresively linking accounts based on the info that got passed over from Spotify and somehow activating the plan automatically on your oldest account.

Thanks a lot for this. I was able to track down an old Hulu account, and sure enough Spotify had linked to it instead of the account I was trying to get it to link to.

Thank God I'm not the only one! I contacted spotify help chat 3 times and nada! I thought they were just ignoring me. whew.

Make sure your email for both accounts is the same.

anyone get this resolved? Hulu was working fine for me for a couple days after connecting it with Spotify and now I get that same message (We’re having trouble authorizing your account with Spotify. Please contact Spotify support to help resolve this issue.) SOS

Seems like this is an issue for a lot of people. Why offer something without the kinks worked out? Poor.

I’m assuming we will be compensated for the whole month of not having Hulu

They refunded my month I didn't have it. I'm not sure what they plan to do next month since they haven't fixed the issue yet! 😑

Same problem as other folks, have had Spotify for Students account for years with little to no problems until I agreed to "switch to premium and get Hulu with less ads and Spotify for $9.99/month." Now I have access to Spotify but only get this message when I hit the Go to Hulu button, "Hulu can't authorize my account." Checked the email address for both and it is the same. 

If Spotify is working on it, they could at least let us know that and maybe even provide updates from time to time, especially since it seems this issue was brought to their attention some time ago.

Also planning to request a refund for this month's service, seeing as I wasn't actually able to use it.

You have to do it through your email, not directly through the spotify account
