I can't get Spotify premium

I want to update from Spotify free to Spotify Premium, but every time I click on "get started" for the individual plan, I get an error message saying I'm not eligible for it. I did use the free month trial years ago and did not continue the subscription right after. Now I just want the Premium plan, I don't really care about the free trial since I already had it, but it feels like it won't let me have it. How do I fix this issue? I already tried making a second account with a different email address but the same thing happens. I'm stuck!
