Is it possible to change the payment method from Google Play to PayPal?

I currently pay for my subscription via Google Play. When I click on "Manage subscription", this is also displayed. However, I have no option to switch to a different payment method.
I would like to pay my subscription directly via PayPal.
Is there a way to change this?
I've tried a lot of things, including canceling and re-subscribing, but I haven't found a solution.

First of all, you need to cancel your subscription through Google Play subscriptions page on Play Store. Once you cancelled the subscription, you can subscribe again on your Spotify account page and choose PayPal as a payment method, if it’s available in your country.

And, as for the account - no need to worry! You will only lose your Premium benefits temporarily when switching your payment method. Your account's content like playlists etc. will remain intact.
