Hi everybody,
I'd like to know if, as a private event organiser, I can use Spotify from my desktop do play music for an audience (40-50 people).
The fact is that I won't have every music people would love to listen, and I wondered if I could config my system to allow Spotify to play some musics that I didn't bought on CD or digital support.
I've seen in the conditions that playing was not available for audience, but on another hand, there is a page in Spotify help pages that states a "Party" system (Android and iOS limited ?)
So, what is legal ? Is the fact that I have Spotify Familly enough for the right to liste/play some music, or have I to buy it on another media ?
Thanks for your answers 🙂

Unfortunately, Spotify usage is also restricted for non-profit events attended by the public.
Looks like the you won't be able to use Spotify to fill in the gaps of your owned content according to the examples you're giving me, sorry. 😞
Hey @ThierryE,
There aren't restrictions about using Spotify for a house party as it's private and non-commercial 🙂
Let me know if you have any other questions.
Hi @Maxim,
I've effectively seen that it's allowed for private and non-commercial.
What is meant by private ? That the party is on invite only ? That we have to know personaly all the people coming ?
For example : I'm responsible for a gids and scout unit. We have a party soon where we want to make parents, friends and so on dance and... consume drinks ! The aim is to get funds to buy materials for their activities. It's not commercial, for this point, i'm sure of it. But what about privacy ? Anybody can come, buy a drink and dance.
What's your feeling about this ? May I use Spotify freely to let the people dance ?
Another example : if I plan to make a party to raise funds for a local non-profit organisation, let say for Red Cross for example. It'll be surely public, but non-commercial. What about this kind of case ?
Thanks a lot for your help !
Thierry
And btw : how to you add the link to the name of your counterpart ?
