Getting spotify premium

My Question or Issue

I want to get Spotify premium. Since i have no creditcard (and I'm not planning on getting one), I chose to use paypal. It was rather disappointing to see that when I continued I was asked to link a creditcard. Why do they give you a choice if they're gonna ask for creditcard anyway? Why can't I use my normal bank-account that's linked to my paypal?

Could you try to join Premium here using a different browser or incognito mode? If you're not seeing that payment method available at checkout - then I'd recommend trying a different payment method.

Same problem. I select the paypal-option as payment method, and click on start premium. I get redirected to the paypal-site where I'm asked to login, after logging in I'm asked to link a creditcard to my account in order to proceed.

none of the links you mentioned offered any solution. Both accounts (Spotify and Paypal) are registered to the same adress, the bank-account linked to Paypal is verified.

You'll need a card or bank account linked to your PayPal in order to make a monthly recurring payment to Spotify - I'd recommend taking a look at this response in the PayPal Community, which confirms this.

e already linked a bank-account to my paypal-account.

Seen there doesn't seem any issue with the settings on the spotify-side of the situation. I went ahead and contacted the paypal-helpdesk, perhaps I'm doing something wrong on their end.
