My Question or Issue

Greetings everyone,

 

I was sent a notice that Spotify users from the Philippines including me, with premium plans paid through Globe (a mobile carrier), will be discontinued this July 31. Luckily, there's another option to pay through another carrier (Smart Communications), which is something I have.

 

However, if I proceed with the payment method change, put in my new phone number, and wait for the PIN to confirm it, I have never received any SMS or text messages from Spotify; hence I cannot change my payment option. I already tried looking at the filtered messages by Spamhound and it wasn't there. I always double checked my phone number in the input field before proceeding, and I also tried asking for the PIN several times this week, both on the Edge browser of my iPhone and on my laptop, to no avail.

 

Spotify will discontinue the Globe payment method this month; so I'm worried that I might get discontinued from my plan, that is if I don't do anything about it. That's why I have to ask you guys if you have any ideas on how I could deal with this problem, and hopefully, someone will respond so that we can settle this issue on time. Has this number under Smart been used for Spotify before? If so, this may cause issues, as you can only use a specific phone number for one subscription. Here on the Community we cannot double check your account and give specific info for security reasons, so it would be best to reach out to Fortumo (the payment provider for this type of billing in the Philippines) and ask them to investigate this further.

Hi Joan!

 

No, this number from Smart hasn't been used as a payment method before for Spotify, and with that info,  what would it mean for my issue? Oh and thank you for replying!

Whenever I try to pay for my students premium account through Carrier billing, after I choose my carrier and enter my phone number, I don't receive a PIN code. That never happened before and I did it before for months now, I don't know what the problem is. I tried from my phone and my laptop, still nothing.
