Problems with paying method student discount The Netherlands

I have recently purchased a mastercard just for the sake of signing up for the student discount on Spotify. Sadly, i keep getting an error when trying to sign up for the subscription. I already checked the help centre and followed every piece of advice given. I have also emailed Spotify, who referred me to the help centre (again) and if the problem still wasn't solved, adviced me to ask my question in the community.

So here I am, wondering how I can get my student discount with my mastercard? Any help would be nice.

If you got an automated reply email telling you to check the Knowledgebase or the Spotify Community, you need to reply back to it, even if it's from a no-reply address. Spotify Support usually replies within 24-48 hours.
