Re-downloading songs if re-subscribing to premium after cancellation?

I don't think I've seen the exact answer to this yet, because everyone is asking about whether they can access their downloaded songs after premium is cancelled.

I understand that you can't access them, but what happens to the downloaded files on my phone? Do they get deleted?

If I cancel premium, and later decide I want to sign-up again, do I have to re-download all the songs, or do I just regain access to my already downloaded songs?

You'll have to re-download all your songs if you cancel your subscription and re-subscribe at a later date.
