Spotify student payment didn't go through so I bought regular premium but both charges occurred

Spotify student payment didn't go through so I bought regular premium but both charges occurred

So I initially tried to buy Spotify Premium with the student discount. The webpage said "Unable to Confirm your Enrollment" or something similar. I tried again but it didn't work. So, I gave up with the student discount and decided to buy normal Premium with a different card. That went through and I now have $10 premium linked to my account. The issue is, my bank told me the $5 charge went through on the other card. Is there a way to cancel that $5 charge or swap the two and get my $10 back because I originally tried to purchase the Student Discount anyways?

Hey @doowi1,

If Spotify is unable to verify your student I.D, you won’t be eligible to claim the student discount. In this instance, any charges will show on your statement as ‘pending’. This means your bank has put a temporary authorization on the funds, but no money has actually been taken.

Once the bank confirms your student I.D failed to verify successfully, the money will reappear on your statement. This can take up to 48 hours, depending on your bank. You can reach out to them for more information about any pending payments.
