My Question or Issue

Hi, I have invited my wife to join my family account via the Spotify accounts page. She has received the invitation by email. Clicking on the supplied link in the email redirects her to the Spotify login page. 

 

When she inputs her email address and the temporary password stated in her invitation email it says "Incorrect username or password".

 

I have tried typing in the same username/password combination on her phone and computer but the results are the same.

 

Can you please help?

Sorry to hear this.

 

Here are some things to check first:

  • If you’re accepting the invite on the same device it was sent from, make sure the owner who sent the invite has logged out of their account page first.
  • If you didn’t receive an email with the link, be sure to check your junk/spam folders.

Still not working? Try resending the invite:

Note: Only plan owners can send invites. If you’re trying to join a plan, you need to ask the owner to complete these steps.

  1. Go to your Premium for Family account page and select the member you want to re-invite.
  2. Click RESEND INVITE.
  3. If that doesn’t work, click CANCEL INVITEand re-invite the member by clicking SEND INVITE, and re-entering their details.

I have tried all your suggestions and unfortunately none of them solve the
problem.

The invite was sent from different devices so there is no conflict with
cross-login. Even tried to open a private browser page to login but still
the same result.

I’ve cancelled and resent the invites (which was sent from my account - the
plan owner), but even with a different temporary password it doesn’t work.

Any other suggestions? If not, then I’ll need to cancel the family plan.

Sorry if that didn’t do the trick. 

 

Can you try clearing your browser's cache/cookies and refreshing? Does that help at all?

 

Accepting the invite in a different web browser or within an incognito window should help, too!
