My Question or Issue

I am unable to make payments by Airtel in Bangladesh, which I was previously using successfully.

 

When I enter my Airtel number, I receive an OTP, but after submitting it, the website displays a message saying 'The payment failed. Please try again, use a different payment card or a different payment method.'

 

I have attempted this multiple times without success.

 

Could you please help resolve this issue?

Thanks for reaching out and welcome to the Spotify Community!

 

Can you make sure your payment method has sufficient funds, and is:

  • Registered in the same country to your Spotify account.
  • Not expired or canceled.
  • Enabled for foreign, secure online, and recurring purchases. Look for these settings in your bank’s mobile app.

Also, make sure your bank or payment provider has your correct details. They may need to verify your identity for security, e.g. with a password, PIN, fingerprint, or code sent to your device.

 

If that doesn't do the trick:

  • Try entering your payment details again using a private/incognito window.
  • Wait a few hours and try again, since it might just be a temporary connection issue.
  • Get in touch with your payment provider.

I have been using my Airtel SIM since the beginning without encountering any issues.

 

My account has sufficient funds, and today, I made two attempts in incognito mode.

 

However, the issue persists.

Sorry to hear you're still having trouble. There are a few more things we can try out here.

 

  • Could you give this a try with a different device?
  • It's also a good idea to test with a different internet connection
  • Try a different payment method, if available

Keep in mind that it's possible the system will not accept the payment if too many attempts to subscribe are made in a short span of time.

I have tried your solution.

Not working.

I have paid thru card.

But Why can't I pay by mobile?

It's great to hear that you've managed to pay via card, but when it comes to the payment via mobile we can't say exactly why this hasn't been successful as there can be different reasons. 

 

Just to be on the safe side that everything's in order, you can reach out to your mobile provider.

I've been trying to buy family plan for 2days as I've lost access to it because of not paying within time but now I can't make payment though my sim or my card. When I try to make the payment though my sim it gives me the OTP but after that all I get is  'The payment failed. Please try again, use a different payment card or a different payment method.' even when I'm using my card

There could be various reasons for a failed payment, so I’d recommend checking out this support article to go through the possible causes and steps you can take to resolve it.

 

It’s also a good idea to contact your mobile provider to ensure everything is in order on their end. If you’re using a card for payment, reaching out to your bank might help too. Some banks require additional authentication, which could explain why the payment failed.

 

Since you provided a screenshot from your phone, I’d suggest trying the process on another device, like a computer, and with a different internet connection to rule out any connection or device-related issues.

I had the exact same problem the last few days, spent an hour with spotify customer service to no avail, and they don't seem willing to investigate whether it's a local payment portal issue (which it most certainly is). I know my debit card and grameenphone account are in working order.

It seems to be a Spotify server issue. My account says that it will renew on 1/1/70 as a date. That seems to be that their server lost track of time and date (and reset to the standard Linux default) and therefore payment fails. So possible issue with the backend infrastructure.

It’s not working for me as well I have the same issues. I don’t own a card to pay. I tired everything else you note down in this post but I am

not being able to pay using sim.

Have you had a chance to reach out to your payment provider to make sure everything is fine on their end? It’s important that your payment method meets the criteria listed here: https://support.spotify.com/article/failed-payment/.

 

Also, if you’ve recently updated your payment details or tried a new payment, I’d recommend waiting 24 hours to allow any updates to sync. 🙂

i am also facing this issues, tried everything card , other sim but still cant pay even if i have enough cash in both card and sim
