Hey there folks,

Thank you for reaching out here in the Community.

Based on what you're describing it's possible that you verified your student discount with SheerID, but never activated the discounted subscription itself. If you've already been verified by SheerID, you should have received an email with a link for activation. You can click on the link to activate the offer.

Tip: The link from SheerID is valid for 7 days.

We'd recommend that you check all your email addresses, spam folders included and see if the email with the activation link is to be found there.

If you still can't find it or if the link is no longer active, we recommend reaching out to SheerID here. Their customer support team will happily help out with the whole verification process, as they are the ones in charge of it and we don't have access to their systems.

Hope this helps. If you need anything else, the Community is here for you.

i did verify using the link, but whenever i reach "get premium for students" it sends me back to the main menu to choose a plan and shows that im not eligible for any of the plans

Hey @elikhandro,

Thanks for getting back to us.

The error message you're seeing indicates that you're trying to activate a promotional offer (e.g. 1 month of Premium Student for free) you're not eligible for.

To activate a regular Premium Student subscription, try this link.

We hope this helps.

I have the exact same problem and did not find any solution working that was provided here.

I am able to provide full documentation for authentification.

Kindly asking for assistance.

I tried to verify but it won't let me using my uni email I didn't even get an email from sheerid for Spotify the only email from them I have is for my yt premium. But for some reason the Spotify one won't let me verify saying that I've exceeded the limit. Is there anyway around this issue or no?

Hey there @lo0oki & @BlueLucifer,

Thanks for reaching out in the thread!

Just to make sure we're on the same page, did you receive a confirmation email from SheerID after you tried to sign up for the student discount here? If so, are you able to continue through the steps via that email? Or do you encounter the issues when you're following those steps?

It's also worth noting that if you currently have an active Premium subscription through a partner (such as your phone or internet provider), or if you're part of a Duo/Family plan, you might not be able to activate Student right away. In this case, you need to cancel the current subscription before subscribing to Student. You can double-check the current subscription on your account page.

Should the issue appear when you're trying to verify your student status, however, we recommend getting in touch with SheerID directly, so that they can have a closer look. You can reach out to them through this page.

Hope this helps! Let us know if anything else appears.

Thanks it worked. Previous plan had to be closed.
