I originally had a Spotify account and upgraded to Duo so my partner could join. He is getting ads when he listens to music.

If he's using the mobile app, please ask him to go into the Spotify app's settings > account. Does it say Free or Premium there? 🙂

Thanks for letting me know.

In that case, he's either logged into the wrong Spotify account or has accepted the invite using a different account 🙂 He can also log in at https://spotify.com/account to check his plan status.
