Great question. When you cancel your Premium subscription through iTunes, and start a Premium for Family plan - you will not lose your saved content on your account (including songs, playlists, podcasts).

 

If you want to subscribe to Premium for Family, follow these steps:

  1. Cancel the automatic renewal of your Spotify payment with Apple. 
  2. Wait for your current subscription to expire.
  3. When your Spotify account reverts to free, you can resubscribe direct with Spotify.
