My Question or Issue
Apparently Spotify doesn't want my money? I've tried to upgrade from Free to Premium Family on Firefox and Chrome, both in normal and incognito modes, and on the Android Spotify app on my phone. All cases result in the error message in the attachment below.
I've gone to the "get help" link and have tried these steps:
- Your card needs to have been issued in the same country registered to your Spotify account.>> I'm in the US and my account reflects this. The card is a US based bank.
- Check the card hasn’t expired or been canceled. >>Card was just used this morning and is active per my account page.
- Make sure you enter the details correctly, particularly the 3-digit number on the back of your card (the CVV/CVC security code). >>All is correct and verified as I read it off the card.
- Check your card is enabled for foreign, secure online, and recurring purchases. You can contact your bank or credit company to check.>>Online shopping with foreign businesses and subscriptions are routinely used.
- Check you have sufficient funds. If you’re using a pre-paid card, you might need to top up. >>Not a pre-paid card.
- Wait a few days and try again, or try in an private/incognito window (there might’ve been a temporary connection problem).>>Seriously, wait a few days? I did try private/incognito with no change in the results.
- Try a different payment method.>>Don't have the luxury of other cards.
I've read through similar threads in this forum and haven't seen any help in those, other than pointing the above for resolution. I guess I'll try again tomorrow, or just forget about a subscription and save the money.
