while purchasing spotify premiun an error comes saying The authentication failed, so you were not charged. To complete your payment, try again, use another payment method or contact your bank.

My first suggestion is that you make sure your payment method has sufficient funds, is registered in the same country to your Spotify account, and is not expired or canceled.

If so, please try entering your payment details again using a private/incognito window. You can also try a different payment method, if possible.

Keep in mind that it might as well just be a temporary connection issue, so you can also wait a few hours and try again. 

If it still doesn't work, I'd suggest getting in touch with your payment provider.
