Can't change playlist cover

My Question or Issue

I can't change my playlist cover, I thought maybe it was because somehow I tried to upload PNG version of the picture, but turned out it wasn't the issue. I asked my friends if then can change their playlist cover, all of them said yes. So I thought that maybe I should just wait a little bit more and it will fix at some point, but it's been almost four days and I still cannot change the cover. And yes, I tried different pictures, didn't work. I tried logging off multiple times and the log in, but it didn't help either, as well as simply shutting the app off. When I try to change it, it says "You cannot save changes to a playlist. Try again."

Could you let us know which troubleshooting steps you've tried already?
If you haven't yet, we'd advise taking the steps @campoaeryl has, as the issue seems resolved for them 🙂

Hi, 

Deleted the app. Reinstalled it from the official Spotify website. Still doesn't work. 

Whenever I try to change the cover photo of my Spotify playlist, the app crashes and immediately closes (with both JPEG and PNG!).

Maybe you shouldn't mark it as solved, since theres still an issue here..?

Thank you for your reply in this thread! We appreciate you sending us all the steps that you've already tried to solve this.
 

Can you confirm that you followed the steps provided in this article when you uninstalled the app? There's some more steps to help thoroughly uninstall the app from your device so if you haven't, we'd highly suggest to check it since the steps will make sure there's no old cached files causing this. You'll also get you the latest app version with all necessary updates and fixes.

You mentioned that you've downloaded the app from our website. Could you try getting it from the Windows Apps store instead and see if you'll still experience the same?

I should also mention that if you're using any VPN services on your laptop, try disabling them and then restart the Spotify app. Those services re-route network traffic and that also might interfere with the app's performance. 
 

In case the issue persists, it'd be great if you could let us know your Spotify version as well as the make, model and OS of the affected device(s).

I have the same problem. I have already tried to log out and log in again, delete and reinstall the application, try it from a browser or my cell phone, clear the cache, but I still have the same problem. please, help

Image uploading for playlists down on all platforms for me.

Tested on iOS, Android, Windows, Web (windows), Web (macOS).

If there is a microservice that handles image uploading, it's probably down. 😖

I have the same issue, I have tried different wifi, being on cellular, signing out everywhere, three different web browsers across multiple devices, and a clean reinstall on my iPhone and STILL I can't change the cover art of any of my albums to any image. It is infuriating. Please help!!!!

same problem here. I have tried clearing my cache, logging out of all devices, multiple different wifis, going on cellular data (data saver is not on and app has full access to data on wifi and cellular), using multiple browser versions, tried multiple browsers on a different device, a full clean reinstall on my iphone, and STILL I cannot change the cover art on any of my playlists with any photos (PNG or JPEG), suddenly, and out of the blue. Its truly infuriating. If anyone can fix this please let me know! error message says "check your Internet connection and try again"

Hi! I'm having the same issue, but nothing suggested is helping. I've tried on the web player, the app from the Spotify website itself and my phone (iPhone 11 if it matters). I've been trying for a while now and nothing works.

the button to add one is still there, but everytime i click it… it does nothing. spotify has made it impossible to ask them directly so i was wondering if anyone else had the same problem

Hello, I am using Spotify on the Web browser. When I click on the photo I get the message "By proceeding, you agree to give Spotify access to the image you choose to upload. Please make sure you have the right to upload the image." then nothing happens. It doesn't give me the option to upload a picture. Any help would be much appreciated?

Hi there @Up1,

Something's blocking the window it seems. Make sure that Spotify is allowed JavaScript access in your browser's settings and try clearing cache and site data, as well as temporarily disable all extensions to see if that does the trick. It's also worth trying with another browser, or another device.
