My Question or Issue

I am having an issue with some of my daily mixes not showing the right artists for the mix. I have one called a Classical Mix but it has bands like Apocalyptica (metal/rock and technically a symphonic metal band), Taylor Davis and Lindsey Stirling (violinists), and various cinematic scores.

It’s more of a cinematic mix than a classical mix that would include Holst, Beethoven, Vivaldi, and Tchaikovsky related artists. Is there a fix for this?

Thanks for the question, @madwonderland13.

The metadata of the songs is uploaded by the right holders, which means that a lot of the classification in the app is according to how the song was described when uploaded to the platform. A part of the sorting does also happen according to how people naturally group the songs in their playlists and listening sessions.

With this said, it's possible that some songs aren't always perfectly categorized and although similar might be a bit out of place in some lists. We're working on improving this and the more you listen and interact with the app, the better the sorting will get.

Cheers!

Hi there @madwonderland13,

Welcome to the Community!

Spotify creates personalized playlists based on your listening history, songs that you skip or repeat and what you listen to from an artist's page, as well as the artists you follow. Unfortunately, what is in your Daily Mix at the moment can't be changed right now, but the more you listen and like content, the more you help the app with showing you your favorite tunes.

We always strive to improve and offer better functions in the future so thank you for sending this info over. We'll pass it on to the right team as we really appreciate your feedback.

Should you need help with anything else, we're here 🙂

Even when the genres of songs and artists do not match the right playlist?
