Could you both try to leave the mix, and join again and see if that helps? Or, in the mobile app tap (Android),
(iPhone), then select Join/Leave Duo Mix.
You can also try to perform a clean reinstall of the app, as this will clear the cache on your device, which can sometimes cause issues with the generation of playlists.
