My Question or Issue
When searching for personalized playlists, Google Assistant devices re-direct to random albums with similar names.
I've got a routine within the Google Home app to “shuffle my daily mix 3 on Spotify”
Until mid April it worked as expected, recently it’s starting playing Daily Drive. I’ve messed around with the wording & sometimes it plays songs recommend to me (Based on the album Daily Mix 3 by Luis Masters) but will no longer play the thing I’m after.. My daily mix 3.
This has been an issue in the past with the album by Luis masters, I got around it by changing the wording but no luck this time.
Can this be looked into please.
is there a solution somewhere? this is marked as solution but i don't see a fix/instruction to fix listed?
Great! Now google nest won't even open spotify with vocal command cause it says "Nest doesn't support this feature"
It was working until few days ago. Now if i want to play my daily on google nest i have to go at the screen...slide, find multimedia tab, open spotify manually and manually select the playlist.
WOW! And it's AI time. I have no idea who's fault this is...but spotify should talk and investigate with google. I'm paying and i can't even play what i want without touching a screen.
And this is marked at solved! I can't tell google nest hub to play my daily! Months that it's like this. I'm sick of it
As i said before, for me the problem is already FIXED... don't know why some users are already experiencing problems...
This is not the same problem discussed in the current thread...
Good for you. For me it's not and i'm paying to have the same service i guess.
Mine? Telling my google nest to play "my daily" and getting spotify to play a playlist with just "your monday daily, your tuesday daily, your Wednesday daily...:" why does spotify plays a playlist that doesn't even exist? Surely not a google nest problem..
Saying "Ok google, shuffle my Custom Playlist Name playlist" should shuffle my Spotify playlist.
Simple as that. It used to work great.
It does not do that. It plays some random thing related to the playlist name.
Great that you don't experience that, Marco. Others do, so repeatedly hearing that it works for you isn't all that helpful, is it?
@OscarDC why is this thread marked as Solved when so many of us still have the issue? For months now? No guidance from Google or Spotify has helped. There is a bug.
It frequently plays the wrong songs. It plays random cover artists, podcasts, or comedians when I ask for specific songs. Even if I specifically say the artist, album, and song name.
When there's two songs in the same album with similar names, it always picks the first one and never plays the second one when I ask to play it by name.
For example, if I say, "Play R. Kelly", it starts playing some comedian named "Robert Kelly".
This has been happening for YEARS. Fix it.
Problem is BACK since yesterday!!!
I have no words to define this... how is it possible that this annoying problem is reintroduced every half year, and takes MONTHS to fix every time??
This is the NEW thread in the Google community https://www.googlenestcommunity.com/t5/Speakers-and-Displays/Google-Nest-Mini-play-wrong-songs-and-p...
Well, after being "fixed" for several weeks (at least for me), the problem came BACK 2 days AGO!!!
HOW is this possible??
I can't even see a firmware change on my devices (so, this must be some BUG on the API side!)
How can we live "peacefully" with these devices? 🤕🤕🤕
Also experiencing this problem .... again. Guess I just wait an unknown amount of time without touching anything in Google or Spotify ecosystem, it my playlist start playing again eventually, or go back to my last fix which was abandon Spotify and have Google Home interact with Youtube Music and my replicated playlist. Good thing I didn't delete that automation.

My Question or Issue
I have a google assistant routine that plays my "official" playlist Discover Weekly, which I use daily.
Last week it had started playing this playlist instead of the official one:
https://open.spotify.com/album/6LxBbtZzMG7sfcBql8cKq4
How can I make sure only the correct Spotify-created Discover Weekly is played?

All Google Nests & Android Auto
I signed up for Premium a month ago. I made up a few playlist called Champs Rock, Champs Metal and so on. For the first 2 week it was great! I would tell my Nests or Android Auto to Play Champs Rock and it would play it. I would say Play Champs Metal and it would play it. The last couple of weeks, something is wrong. On the Nests or Android Auto I will say "Play Champs Rock" and it will say "Playing 80s Rock". Or I will say "Play Champs Metal" and it will say "Playing Metal From Sam's Playlist" or someone else's playlist. It is the same with all of my playlists. It will not find the particular one that I want. I have not made any changes that would cause this. I have even tried changing the names of my playlists, but it didn't help. I really love Spotify, it is so much better than Amazon Music that I came from, but it would be nice if it would find and play my playlists again. Thanks in advance for any help.
In regards to this specific "Discover Weekly" playlist: it's incredible how often users can report this random playlist that is clearly abusing the name "Discover Weekly", and Spotify still hasn't either removed it or made sure it is excluded from Assistant commands.
I have made several attempts going back years, and nothing has been done about it. Ridiculous.
As a possible workaround, make sure your routine/assistant command uses something like:
Asking specifically for the playlist, and asking specifically for the one made by Spotify, seems to give a more reliable result.
I am having the exact same issue. I have play lists created on my spotify and it was playing fine as automated routines on my Google home device. Now it suddenly stopped it just plays random songs from Spotify that have similar name. I tried it on two different Google devices and it does the same. Please help
Why Is this marked as a solution when all you've asked for is extra detail. Came to this thread expecting a solution. WASTE OF TIME!
As user @marcolopespt mentioned above, this issue looks to have re-appeared. And I believe it reappeared within the past 10 days or less.
When using a Google Nest Mini, a previously working routine has stopped. The routine would tell Spotify to play a playlist of mine called "The Dungeon". Now the routine starts playing a random song or playlist with "Dungeon" in it's name.
In order to avoid ambiguity, I renamed my playlist to "The Dungeon at <MyLastName>" and updated the routine. Even with a unique name, Spotify still cannot play my playlist.
Because this is played using a Google Nest Mini, Google Chromecast, and voice commands, there isn't any Spotify app version information that I know of to provide.
It looks like these external threads highlight the same issue:
Looks like it might be trying to work again. I told my Nests to play a few of my made up playlists and each time it played them. Only problem now is with Android Auto, I asked it to play my specific playlists and each time it said "oops, there was a problem. Please try again later". Has anyone else had this happen?
Well, that didn't last long. Today it is back to not being able to find my playlists. Sure hope it get's fixed soon!
