How to resolve "Device Limit Reached"?

I recently had to restore my apple devices to factory settings, and am now attempting to download my playlists. However, I am unable to do so because I receive a message indicating: "Device limit reached - remove all downloads from another device to listen offline with this one." How can I do so remotely, since my devices have been restored for factory settings?

Hi there,

Thanks for reaching out.

When using Premium, you may have offline content saved on up to 5 devices at a time. If you have more than that you'll have to remove one of the old ones. This can also happen if there's offline content left on an old device that you've now replaced with a new one.

If you're getting the error that you've reached the Device Limit, then here's what we suggest you try:

  1. If you still have access to an old device that you don't use anymore, check out this article and follow the steps under "Remove all downloads from your mobile device".
  2. A device can stay offline for up to 30 days and must connect to the service at least once in that timespan to remain active. If you wait for 30 days to pass since an old device was last used, any downloads on it will be automatically removed.
  3. If the issue persists, reach out to us directly here and so that we can reset the offline cache for you from our end.

Hope this helps.

Me apareció el limite de descargas en offline y que tengo que borrar las descargas de otros dispositivos

Quiero descargar un album de musicas pero no me permite, me sale que ya hay más dispositivos que han descargado musicas y no se puede

Hello, I just got an iPhone 15. And I traded in my old one. My songs can’t download. Can you help me?

I have removed "All Downloads" from all of my devices and Spotify is still telling me "Device Limit Reached" over a week after I've deleted all downloads.

What can I do? I need to have the downloads on this computer by the weekend as I have my wedding!

i want to start indiviual primium plane for 3 monts and know about download limit or unlimited

So having changed to a new iPhone (and indeed a new Apple Watch) I select a playlist to download and find I now have 3 watches and 2 phones!  Having spoken to 3 customer support agents - with at least 3 different answers - I wondered if anyone had been able to remove the unused (and will never be used again) devices?
