Liked playlist no longer plays in order even with shuffle disabled

The new update now defaults the liked playlist to shuffle. Even with it turned off, the “liked” playlist does not play from most recent to oldest, instead it still skips over songs and is shuffled. NOT SURE WHY this is happening, but this is definitely a degradation in user experience for me. One of the biggest reasons is because my musical tastes have changed, and I dont care for it to somehow jump to a song i listened to 5 years ago when it is not on shuffle.

What I noticed as well is I will play the first song at the top of the list, then it will arbitrarily skip the next two songs and then play the next few songs. As to why it skips those makes no sense to me.
