My Question or Issue

I was half way through listening to Never Finished by David Goggins and it has been removed from my list saying it's not currently available in my region? How do I make this available again?

U.K. here. Artemis doesn’t work if do a new search I only get German and French versions. Project Hail Mary seems to work. 

Customer support has been telling me it was an issue with a system update, that backend engineers were working on it. Now they say it's ... just because... ?

Looks like Project Hail Mary is now exclusive to audible.

I have the same issue with Jonathan Strange & Mr Norell, listened 2 days ago, now it's gone. 

Searching doesn't help, I only find other versions, very annoying 😞

I was listening to project Hail Mary today. I was on the very last chapter and it suddenly disappeared and told me it’s no longer available in my region. Searching for it I can pull up what appears to be the Portuguese (I think) version, but the English version will not play any more. This is ridiculous. It was working fine until about 1 hour ago.

My Question or Issue

I literally just upgraded my audiobook account this week so I could continue listening to the Dungeon Crawler Carl series. Mid book 6, all of sudden, the entire series just vanished and I got a notification saying it was not available in my region. Is this a glitch? If not, I'm going to have to go back to audible. And I'd like a refund on my upgrade.

Same here, I was halfway through and it just randomly stopped and says unavailable in my region. Super frustrating

To add more info. It’s not a region issue. I verified I’m still set to US and English. I can play other audio books just fine. I’m not connected to any VPNs.

 

It’s also not a license issue. There are posts in this thread from 6 days ago from people having the same problem. If it was a license issue I wouldn’t have been able to listen to the book over the last 3 days. I also wouldn’t be able to access the book in a different language.


It’s also not specific to the mobile app. I see the same problem in a browser on my laptop. This is going to be a bug in Spotify’s backend. 

I've had the same issue too, Project Hail Mary audiobook disappearing halfway through my listen?!

The fix others mentioned didn't work for me. Searching again for the book or author just brings up a Spanish/Portuguese version... 

Same issue. Chapter 29 😞 I also had the issue from 6 days ago that people posted about and I fixed it then by searching for the new version, but this time is just seems to be gone. Why no warning, Spotify?! 

It is really frustrating that there was no warning that the book was leaving! Will this be added in the future? Now people have to pay more to buy it at another outlet, when they could have just done that in the first place. 

Same, in book 5. Very frustrating. Messaged support several times. Was told it was up to the author when they revoke rights, and Spotify has no control. Was provided very blanket answers. The book may or may not come back. Disappointing.

Everything about the symptoms of this issue points to it being a bug. I cannot find any evidence that the license has been revoked for the book I was listening to. And other people are seeing the same issue with different books.

 

This is pretty clearly a technical issue that Spotify needs to fix. 

So frustrating! I just purchased top-up hours, and then my book just disappeared without any warning. It really makes me want to cancel my Spotify subscription if I can't trust that I'll be able to finish a book. 

No I also found that.  Some googling showed me that the books are exclusive to Audible and Apple Books.  It really sucks.  I was on Book 3 mid way and also upgraded my account for the same reason 

Same.  I was listening to it this morning and at lunch, and now after work it's gone.  I have maybe an hour left on it.  How is it available and not available same day?  No notifications, no duration available, nothing, just poof, gone in the middle of the day.

Seconding all of the above. Was only on chapter 5, I just got into audio books, it was my first one, I was loving it, then boom, mid-stream, cut off, happened on my drive home from work.

Now I can't find it anywhere in English except Audible. Has to either be a technical glitch or a horribly handled licensing issue...

It disappeared from my list twice now. It became unavailable again 9/10.  Spotify needs to get their stuff together. 

For the second time in a week, it’s happened again on 9/10/2025. Spotify, why? Refund in listening hours for all users affected?

I keep getting the same message with an audiobook,“Not currently available in your region“.

reinstalling the app does not help. Clearing the cash does not help. I am not on a VPN.

 

this is the first time I have tried a audiobook, and I am not having a good time. Please fix this.
