My Question or Issue
Hello, over the last day or so, my library on my mobile spotify app has gone completely empty & all my playlists are gone on the mobile app, however not in the web-player, or the pc app.
I am also unable to listen to songs through the search function, unless they are in one of my playlists.
I am also unable to play songs I havent listened to before through my pc on my phone.
My profile picture is also gone on the mobile app.
As I mentioned earlier, I am able to listen to songs on the pc app & the web player, just not on the mobile app.
I've tried reinstalling, clearing the cache, and I've even made sure that spotify is able to use my facebook information, both on the privacy page on the spotify web page, and on facebook.
On both, It was enabled, however I decided to re-enable it, incase it was bugged for whatever reason.
I'm wondering if I simply have to wait for the app to fix itself, since this problem arose by itself without me changing any settings, or If I can do something to listen to music again 😕
I've been using spotify since 2012, and been a premium member since 2014, and this is the first time i've ever had any problems, so I'm quite baffled

Hey everyone, GREAT NEWS! I hadn't read the clean reinstall guide well enough, and was able to fix the problem by deleting the com.spotify.music. folder on my sd card, the app works fine now!
Hey @kasparrr,
Thanks for the post!
There might be a chance you're logged in the wrong account by accident. Since your username shows different in the different apps.
Go through the troubleshooting in this article to check that.
Keep us posted on how you get on with this.
Cheers.
hey, this isn't the case, as i've logged in using my facebook account, and it's the same one i've been using since 2014, and It still recognizes me as the owner, and lets me edit all my playlists that show up on my front page
Hey @kasparrr,
Thanks for the clarification.
We understand that you already tried reinstalling. However, we'd like to suggest performing a clean reinstall of the app by following these steps in case you haven't already. This can be helpful to get rid of any cache that might be causing trouble.
If this doesn't do the trick, could you try logging in to your account using a different mobile device to see if you notice the same behavior?
We'll be on the lookout for your reply.

Hey so I'm having this exact problem and did all clean reinstall steps, however it did not fix mine. My phone is a Samsung A10e though. I suppose that could be a factor. I'm also updated to Android 12 as of today, same day as the problem came up.
Hey @LameLyssa,
Thanks for the reply.
Could you check if Spotify has the necessary permissions to run in the background in the Device Care settings? On this site you can find some guides on how to find these settings.
Keep us posted,
Cheers!
Alright so I've checked and it was enabled! Still no changes
<span;>Update: Upon further investigation, I'm thinking that this is a more complicated problem. I looked at recent reviews from people with the same device (Samsung A10e) and it seems like a common problem now. So maybe some bug or something?
Yet another update. I'm now thinking it's an SD card problem (which I suppose could still be linked with android devices somehow but I'm trying to calm with all the assumptions). That looks like a common theme and to support that idea, my spotify is now fixed! The one troubleshooting I hadn't tried, taking the SD card out and putting it back in. That was the one that did the trick. More specifically, I took it out, opened spotify which was then working again, and then i put it back in.
Hey @LameLyssa,
Thanks for sharing this finding!
It'll be surely helpful to other users aswell.
Cheers!
I am having the same problem. I have a Samsung A50, Android 11. I did the clean reinstall, but it still kept showing me that there was nothing in any of the playlists when I tried to click on them to play anything. When I searched a song, and tapped on it to play it, it just went to a blank screen. So, I did the steps to clean everything related to Spotify from my phone, and this time I took out my SD card. I left the SD card out, and reinstalled Spotify, and it worked perfectly. I installed the SD card properly, and switched Spotify's storage to the SD card, and Spotify immediately stopped working again. I had to wipe Spotify from my phone again, take the SD card out, reinstall Spotify, put the SD card back in, and I cannot use the SD card for Spotify storage or Spotify does not function at all. It feels like this might be some kind of bug. Any ideas?
Hey there @momof3es,
Thanks for the post.
Most likely there SD card is the culprit. You can run it through a scanning app on your PC to check if there are any memory errors.
The best thing to do is to get a new SD card and check if that works as expected. Had this happen to me in the past and getting a new SD card solved it for me.
Hope this helps.
