I’ve also got the same problem tried going onto my mobile hotspot turning local files off and on multiple times on the networks and nothing seems to work. On my iPhone, I have one version of the downloaded song and on my laptop I have another. Both versions can only played on one device or the other. I have done this in the past (approximately 6 months ago) and it worked just fine. Now I have added a couple new songs and just had the issue. I tried doing the resolution’s provided but now all the songs I have downloaded onto local files have this issue. Is there going to be an actual resolution? I as well don’t have the “sync files from desktop” button when going into local files on my mobile app which I believe is the problem. Because the files are being downloaded onto my phones files, it’s creating a double up and not allowing for the songs from my laptop to be synced and used as it has downloaded it onto the device.
I don’t get it. Every time I somehow manage to download local mp3 files from my pc to my Spotify playlist on iPhone, the damn thing just either stops being playable after awhile, or the download just outright disappears from my phone. This has been going on for YEARS. Surely Spotify can do better by now? I’m thinking of just calling it quits and moving my playlists to Apple Music at this point

My Question or Issue
How can I get a track from my MacBook Apple Music into my Spotify library on either my MacBook or my iPhone? There is a track on an Amy Macdonald album (A Curious Thing) called What Happiness Means to Me which extends into a cover of Dancing In The Dark, this track just does not exist on Spotify but it was on a CD I owned.
Very true. Now its just completely broken. https://community.spotify.com/t5/iOS-iPhone-iPad/Local-files-not-syncing-to-iphone/m-p/6134901
Good job spotify
I was pretty sure it was a general issue rather than just with 10 of us. I've been using local files (and struggling with them) for years and, although I always had problems, I'd always get the songs on my phone and on my PC perfectly fine. However, it's been two months since I've been having this issue.
This is simply insane. Such a simple feature that we pay for and not a single solution in sight. Infuriating.
For those wondering, Spotify has changed the way local files work. If you’re on iOS, you now have to manually sync the music files to your device. The old method of syncing over local network is gone. This was one of the main reasons why I used Spotify over Apple Music, but now there doesn’t seem to be much of a point

My Question or Issue
Has spotify stopped allowing me to add songs from my hard drive? I did an unistall and reinstall and it got worse. All the previously downloaded songs from my hard drive no longer work on my phone. They play fine on the desktop, but I can't seem to get them back on my phone.
