New Episodes feed has been removed from My Library

New Episodes feed has been removed from My Library

When I opened the spotify app this morning to download any new episodes from my favourite podcasts in My Library, I found a note where my New Episodes feed would be to say this was now not part of My Library and that I needed to go to Home to find new episodes. So now I have to scroll endlessly through my home page to find the banner new episodes of podcasts, and then I have to open each episode individually to then click again to get to download them. Then when I go back to the homepage it takes me back to the top again and I have to scroll down the page AGAIN to find new episodes and go through the process each time. It was a stupid change and I don't understand why you would make it so much harder for users than previously. How is this beneficial?

BS. This change is complete garbage… unwanted, unnecessary and creates a huge user experience problem for customers who subscribe for access to their favorite podcasts. This was done solely as a means for Spotify to forcefeed unsolicited “recommendations” on its customer base. Not interested. Hope to see Spotify do the right thing for its customers and restore the ‘new podcast’ feed asap. If not, it will be so long to Spotify for me. Plenty of alternatives out there.

Please change the podcast system back, or at least continue to give the option of using the "new episodes" playlist in the library tab. This change is less convenient and makes it more annoying to sort through new and in progress podcasts episodes. With this and the further integration of AI, I am seriously considering cancelling my Spotify subscription.

What’s the point of this change? Just to annoy it’s users?

This is appalling. Worst UX ever. Downloading Apple pods now

  1. “I find it outrageous that Spotify’s app updates tend to worsen functionality rather than improve it. A current example is the podcasts, where the library has now been moved to the home screen and episodes are listed there. At the same time, the very useful feature of quickly finding the most recently played episodes has been removed, which I think is simply a shame. I have no idea why Spotify makes such incomprehensible decisions

I can’t actually see which episodes are new in the following section. Please can you fix that and bring back the new episodes list

Dislike the change from simplicity.

Dislike having to complete additional steps to use the product.

Dislike discovering that splitting a menu into separate locations is a repeat fail.

Vad hållar ni på med?

This is one of the most frustrating "updates" Spotify has ever made!

Spotify's commitment to consistently making their product worse with every single update really is astounding

Very much dislike the change.

Another dissatisfied customer, having New Episodes in Your Library alongside Your Episodes was much more intuitive and easier to navigate, i now have to remember to add in 3 or 4 extra steps to see my new releases for the day - put it back please!

I’ve been a Spotify user since 2011; paying for premium is as essential to me as electricity. I say this because this change is such a huge step backwards that I’m now looking into alternative podcast services. Moving the New Episodes playlist to a Following tab is whatever, but not removing the episodes after theyre marked as finished is awful design.

I have the same opinion. It is incomprehensible to me how such illogical and UX-hostile decisions can be made.
Removing the “New episodes” from the library and moving it to the front page, but also removing the function in the library to listen to the 3 most recently started podcasts, is simply incomprehensible. After more than 10 years as a customer, I'm also considering switching. I have no idea what got into Spotify...

it is totally stupid, why a well developed app is made worse and worse on purpose! I dont understand this. Did Spotify lose their UX Designers?

I cannot really express how annoyed and angry I am when witnessing such a permanent reduction of quality and forcing me to cancel my membership.

This is not an acceptable solution.  You are welcome to introduce this as a new feature but it costs you absolutely nothing at all to reinstate the old method for users who rely on the existing feature daily.

This change is obviously to force users to engage with new content and Spotify will promote the shows who pay the most money. It has nothing to do with user experience and everything to do with making money. It’s a terrible change and encourages me to find a new podcast platform.

Hi

When I go to my podcast list, I use the 'new episodes' link to get the latest ones that came in.  That option has now disappeared from the Spotify app on my iPhone 13 mini.  I restarted the phone but it's still now there.  Was it removed on purpose?  Is there a way to get it back -- maybe via some setting?  It is a great function to use, otherwise I would have to go through each of my podcast separately.  Any help is appreciated.

Thanks!

Please bring New Episodes back.  I had it pinned and used it everyday, it was quick and simple.  Now all episodes are listed and don’t go away after listening so we have to scroll and scroll, not efficient at all.

It's truly an awful update. Not what your users want. I want to see the newest content from those I follow in one neat place. Please feed this back. Users don't want this, it's really not intuitive any more
