New Episodes feed has been removed from My Library

New Episodes feed has been removed from My Library

When I opened the spotify app this morning to download any new episodes from my favourite podcasts in My Library, I found a note where my New Episodes feed would be to say this was now not part of My Library and that I needed to go to Home to find new episodes. So now I have to scroll endlessly through my home page to find the banner new episodes of podcasts, and then I have to open each episode individually to then click again to get to download them. Then when I go back to the homepage it takes me back to the top again and I have to scroll down the page AGAIN to find new episodes and go through the process each time. It was a stupid change and I don't understand why you would make it so much harder for users than previously. How is this beneficial?

I absolutely hate this change - it's driving me up the wall. It was so clear and easy before. Please change it back!

Bring bac New Eposodes!!!!!!!

Adding my voice to the chorus. This change is so bad I'm actively searching for alternatives and thinking about canceling. I have a YouTube music subscription I don't use just waiting for me. Change it back. 

It was bad enough when you left subscriber only episodes in my New Episodes feed, but this change is unusable. I may need to cancel my Premium subscription and find another, more user friendly, app to listen to my daily Podcasts on.

Can only agree with all the negative feedback on this change! Please revert to previous solution. It was very, I repeat VERY, convenient to easily find my unfinished podcast AND all the newest podcast from the podcasts that I follow. Now, not so much.

This is a terrible change. 

Completely agree.  I've been a software developer for almost 40 years, and the thought of taking away functionality goes against everything in a user experience centered approach.  Cancelled my monthly premium subscription over this as I go back to the drawing board to find another podcasting solution that will function better for the way I like to listen.

You did this to try to claim more attention and get people scrolling. Terrible update with no regard for user experience 

If there's one thing you should not do it's changing how podcast listeners find their podcasts. We use the new episode button daily and have for years. This change is just making it needlessly complicated to find what we want to listen to. We k ow how to go to the specific podcast page if that's what we're looking for to catch up on a show we've missed multiple episodes of, but the new episode page fulfilled a different purpose and getting rid of it is just technological regression so it takes us longer to find what we want. 

I'm also so frustrated by this change!! I used the new episodes playlist multiple times a day every single day. 

Not only that, but moving "my library" to sections from the left in favor of this weird new"create" button is SO disruptive to the way I use the app. 😭

Really hoping this is just an experiment and they give us back the new episodes playlist. 

And the answer from support as if Following Feed is such a clear easy way to find the episodes I'm looking for, as if we're stupid. Following Feed is not a clear easy to use, user tested feature, it's something your boss convinced themselves it makes sense and you're shoving it down our throats. Tell your boss it's stupid.

This is brutal... instead of seeing my new eps immediately and seamlessly, I have to navigate multiple clicks to get them manually. What made you think this was a smart move? User experience is so much worse. 

This explanation does solve the issue. The 'evolution' of the UI for new episodes doesn't provide the same functionality for me to manage the new episodes (i.e. I want to SEE all the new episodes and sometimes mark them as read to remove them from the pending list - the new interface does not provide this). Please bring back the prior functionality. 

There is no "following" fees on my home page. PLEASE put the new episodes playlist back ASAP. This is the stupidest change you could have made. I listen to too many podcasts for them to show up on my homepage, so I will definitely miss new episodes. The new episodes playlist was perfect. Why mess with that?!? 🤬

This! I would mark episodes finished when I didn't want to listen to them and the would disappear! 

This is not a solution!! 

Agree with the other commenters that this is not user friendly and a real downgrade in functionality. Please bring it back!

I hate this change! Please revert back soon or you’ll lose a premium subscriber and I’m not alone. This is a terrible and I’ve been premium for so many years because of this specific playlist set of features. Now it’s gone and the replacement is so much worse.

Chiming in to say that this change is very frustrating and disappointing... Definite downgrade to the user experience! Guess I'm going to stay off Spotify until this comes back.
