New Episodes feed has been removed from My Library

New Episodes feed has been removed from My Library

When I opened the spotify app this morning to download any new episodes from my favourite podcasts in My Library, I found a note where my New Episodes feed would be to say this was now not part of My Library and that I needed to go to Home to find new episodes. So now I have to scroll endlessly through my home page to find the banner new episodes of podcasts, and then I have to open each episode individually to then click again to get to download them. Then when I go back to the homepage it takes me back to the top again and I have to scroll down the page AGAIN to find new episodes and go through the process each time. It was a stupid change and I don't understand why you would make it so much harder for users than previously. How is this beneficial?

This stupid decision  makes Spotify unusable for me.

 

I don't know which **bleep** thought that filtering out episodes of podcasts you've already listened to is useless, since it most certainly isn't.

Bring the "new episode" back pleaseeeeee

Pure garbage change. Bring back the new episodes list asap. It's a matter of practicality.

This change is awful. Nobody liked it the last time you did this, and we hate it once again. Not even being able to filtered out played episodes is just ridiculous. Just revert it 

I am premium and i still lost the new episodes folder. I hate this. 

This is absolute garbage. Please tell me when you will be putting the new episodes option back before I cancel my subscription. This is terrible. Why would you purposely make our experience worse?

This is awful. Give me the new episode option back. It was one of the reasons I was paying for this. Im happy to cancel and find a different player. We all hate this!!!

 In case you were wondering why more people aren't complaining about this, they are! I wrote a post in Help/Your Library last Wednesday about it and there are over 100 very unhappy comments. there are also two polls in the Ideas section calling for New Episodes to be reinstated. You're not alone. Dumbest decision ever by Spotify. they have tried it before and gotten huge push back, so done a U-turn. Lets hope they come to their senses (AGAIN) and give it back to us.

Absolutely agree! Spotify, get it back to be able to see the not completed episodes.

This is now the third poll on the same subject. Spotify, are you paying attention?

No, I'm sorry, this is not helping.
It would be better if:

- there is a filter for e.g.: new episodes, partially played, played, etc
- a switch to display: card style (details), list (minimal info)
Both of these make navigation much easier when you know the podcast you listen to every day.

Well this is a clear sign of someone needing to justify their existence at the company and changed something that worked perfectly fine. This is a trash decision and a trash change.

This change isn’t simple or reliable. There are no filters that remove episodes I’ve already listened to. No matter what setting I try, I’m scrolling through pages of old podcasts. It is also terrible with CarPlay. The old set up was clear and simple. I am going to have to find another streaming platform after being with Spotify for years. 

I am also looking for answers on this. It does say when a podcast was last updated, but that could be an episode I already listened to. This is terrible. I'll have to move to a different podcast app if this isn't fixed for sure. 

 

How can you remove the best feature in all of Spotify and replace it with a confusing new one that frustrates absolutely every user? The "New Episodes" folder is by far the most important reason for me to use Spotify.
Without this folder, the app basically has no value for me anymore.

I hate this. Please put it back to how it was.

This is worse change than last time they tried to pull it. I will give them a few weeks to fix it. Anyone recommend another podcasting app?

This is a massive downgrade for me. Are your product managers so impotent they have to force people to use their new functionality? It's making up additions to problems that don't exist. Bring back the new episodes feed and people can opt-in using to the following feed if they want to.

This sucks. Why the change? Listen to your customers or lose them.
