New Episodes feed has been removed from My Library

New Episodes feed has been removed from My Library

When I opened the spotify app this morning to download any new episodes from my favourite podcasts in My Library, I found a note where my New Episodes feed would be to say this was now not part of My Library and that I needed to go to Home to find new episodes. So now I have to scroll endlessly through my home page to find the banner new episodes of podcasts, and then I have to open each episode individually to then click again to get to download them. Then when I go back to the homepage it takes me back to the top again and I have to scroll down the page AGAIN to find new episodes and go through the process each time. It was a stupid change and I don't understand why you would make it so much harder for users than previously. How is this beneficial?

Hey community. What are the best Spotify alternatives?

Hello,

the Following Feed in the homespace is not visible in Android auto of Carplay.

Hope you will come up with a solution, because it is very anoying

Gr,

Andy

Why are you changing it? It worked well and was easy. This is not an improvement. Change it back or at least give the option. Who asked for this? It was better before.

You ruined a perfect feature and made things difficult. Please change this back asap!

This change is terrible. It's impossible to find my new episodes and my feed is littered with a bunch of junk podcasts I don't want. Spotify never listens to it's users and is complete trash.

This is a horrible change! It is not user-friendly at all. The “new episodes” don’t even always appear on my home feed. Yesterday I could scroll to find it and today I couldn’t. Please bring it back the “your Library” section. The new way isn’t easier to look through or mark what you want to skip as finished. It seems that lots of people agree so maybe listen to your paying customers.

As a heavy podcast listener this has really ruined my experience on the app. Things I dislike about this change:

  • Not being able to easily see which podcast episodes I'm currently listening to - at the very least, Recents should be at the top of the Podcasts page, with a simple view of episodes from podcasts I follow beneath it
  • Not being able to easily switch back and forth between the following feed and my saved episodes - Saved/My episodes should be on the Podcast page as well, similar to how Liked Songs is first thing on the Music tab
  • Having to tap Podcasts then Following - it should just immediately show podcasts I'm following. Podcasts are already shown on the homepage so it's like podcasts has two homepages
  • The podcast interface not as intuitive as the Audiobook tab, which immediately surfaces what I'm listening to at the top without the need for an extra tap
  • Not being able to remove completed episodes from the feed. Not as much of a dealbreaker but it really did help remove clutter, given the number of episodes I can go through a day

All in all, I'm not against podcasts having a dedicated page/tab, but the UX is really horrible and inconsistent with the other Music and Audiobook tabs

The removal of New Episodes is a very annoying update kust to force users to spend more time looking at the home page. Please reverse this!

Agreeing with everyone who said this is a ridiculous update. I guess I just won't listen to anything new now because they are so impossible to find. Restore the original method of finding the new episodes please.

I use it daily as well. Agree this needs to go back to the original method, which was easier and more intuitive.

This was a terrible change.  It is a step backward.  Please revert to the original method.  And fire whoever came up with the new idea.

And I can't find "Following Feed".

May have to switch over to ApplePlay instead of Spotiify.

This change is awful! It makes it more difficult to find things and I can't seem to get it to display list without finished podcasts (or podcasts I have marked as finished).

I have some podcasts that are daily, some weekly and some I save for a rainy day and don't always listen to every episode as it can depend on if am interested in that episodes topic. Episodes that I am intending to listen to are getting lost between finished episodes and ones I am not interested in.

Please revert it back.

**bleep**. Goodbye to Spotify

I don't see what I'm gaining from this change. Perhaps the company could explain the benefits.

No it does not "clear things up"! The change to My Episodes is the worst move I've ever seen. It completely changes the entire listening experience as you now have to search for your Episodes.  I am so very disappointed in this change and do not understand how you could sabotage yourself and your customers with such a bad move. I have listened to podcasts for many hours and you have made a ton of ad revenue from my using your app. Moving to Amazon music today.  Very disappointed.

This "solution" sucks. nothing about this is more simple or reliable (whatever that means). I'll be downloading podcast apps till I find one that doesn't actively make finding new unlistened to episodes harder to find

It's so crazy how dumb people making decisions for apps can be. Guaranteed they don't even use their own app to think this wasn't a horrible idea. Hopefully they get the hint from everyone and put it back quickly.

Absolutely terrible change and virtually unusable. This is the least intuitive UI design ever. Change it back.

Nobody asked for this and nobody wants it. I want New Episodes on home or I'll cancel

This is terrible. Please switch it back.
