My Question or Issue

On the home screen of my Spotify app, other users daily mixes are showing up. When I open up the daily mix it says 'Made for X' where X is someone else's username. On top of this, I have x3 'Daily mix 1' playlists on my home screen.

If I go through the app to find the 'Made for You' section then my daily mixes are there and appear to be correct. I've attached some screenshots of my home screen showing the multiple daily mixes.

As far as troubleshooting goes, I was on live chat for 2 hours yesterday where they didn't have any ideas but they made me change my password etc... I've cleared data / cache for the app. Uninstalled the app, reinstalled (no joy), uninstalled - restarted - reinstall and nothing has worked.

On the Spotify web player or my computer I can't see any of these playlists showing up.

Has anyone else had this happen / know of a solution?

Hey there folks,

Thanks for reaching out in the Community and flagging this with us.

We've tried to reproduce the described behavior of the app, but we couldn't. We also understand your frustration when you see daily mixes for someone else, however we'll do our best to get to the bottom of this and give you best advice.

@GIANDY Thank you for the troubleshooting you've done so far. Would you mind asking a friend or a family member to log in on your device and test this out to see if they'll experience the same?

@Georgialambert  @kurbo26 Can you let us know what steps you've tried so far, so that we don't suggest things that you've already tested?

In any case,  performing a clean reinstall of the app would always be beneficial. This is more thorough than a regular one and can be helpful to get rid of any cache from previous installations that might be causing issues. We recommend this step since it also gets you  latest version so that you don't miss out on any fixes.

Another thing that is also worth trying is clearing your cache following the steps here

If the issue still occur, please try testing it with a different account on your device.

Lastly, share with us the make, model and OS version of your device (in case you haven't done it yet), along with the exact Spotify version you're currently running? Any screenshots you can provide will also be helpful to identify what's causing this.

We'll be on the lookout for your replies!

Cheers!

My Question or Issue

As of today in my Home Screen I can see “daily mix number x” and when I click on it, it is a daily mix for someone else. I haven’t searched and clicked on these playlists previously and I haven’t listened to anyone them but I have a handful of daily mixes all made for other people. How can I get rid of this?

Hello @Georgialambert

I think the first thing is to ensure that the playlists were never searched or streamed on your account.

It could have been anyone with access to your account, most likely those close to you.

I'd also recommend deleting the playlists from your library, clearing the app cache, and logging out and back in.

If they somehow still appear, a clean reinstall might help.

Keep me posted, I hope we can resolve this soon.

Note: I'm not a Spotify employee.

I'm having the same issue since receiving the new UI on my IOS devices. Windows devices are still on the old UI and do not show the strange Daily Mix playlists. There are some reports on reddit.com/r/truespotify, but not a lot.

I don't think this is a case of someone else hacking/using the account.

1. The strange playlists only show up on devices with the new UI

2. I have multiple "Daily Mix 2"s, "Daily Mix 3"s etc (just like your screenshot), so it isn't a case where my Daily Mix playlists have simply changed.

3. Also as you mentioned, the Daily Mixes are correct in the Made For You section.

These imply that Spotify knows what Daily Mixes belong to me, but for some reason are also displaying others on the Home screen.

Viewing the playlists shows "Made for" and various user names that I do not know.

I'm glad I'm not the only one! It being linked to the new UI would make sense why it's not showing up on the web player / windows.

I agree that it doesn't seem to track with any kind of account hacking etc... because if it was just music that I don't listen to showing up in the daily mix, it would still say 'Made for Andy' (In my case).

Very strange, hopefully an update around the corner to fix this issue.

Thanks for letting me know about the subreddit too, I'll hop over there and give that a look 🙂

I have loads of other peoples daily mixes and playlists in my home page/feed. I have never searched for them or listened to them. I tried logging out of all my devices. But I can still see this stuff that's got nothing to do with my music taste and has been made for other people.

I've tried the above steps (clear cache and reinstall) and the problem persists.

Two of my devices are affected:

iPhone XR, iOS 16.0.2, Spotify version 8.7.68.568

iPad Air 2, iPadOS 15.7, Spotify version 8.7.68.568

The same incorrect daily mixes are on both of them.

The problem seems to be less now then originally, but there are still playlists "made for" someone else.

Not affected: Windows 11 22H2 Spotify for Windows 1.1.95.893.g6cf4d40c. Web interface also not affected. Both old UI.

I have the same. Installing an older version of the app fixes the problems, but after updating to the latest version, the interface is fu*ked up again
Xiaomi 12 pro

Glad to see it's not just me with this problem; I too checked my history thinking I was hacked, changed my password, did a clean reinstall, but still seeing other people's Daily Mixes and recommendations.

I am using a Samsung Galaxy Flip4, Android version 12.

Please advise on what the issue is and how to resolve this.

I have the same issue. My homepage is full of other people's Made For You playlists, including Daily Mixes and On Repeat, which don't align with my music taste at all.

I'm using a Google Pixel 4a on Android 13 and Spotify Version 8.7.72.546.

Thank you for the information you've shared everybody,

Our tech teams are working on this as we speak 🙂

We'll keep you updated with more news here.

My Question or Issue

when looking at my home page, I’m seeing daily mixes and ‘on repeats’ for users that aren’t me.

Hey @MFOulton!

Could you let us know which version of Spotify you're running? You can find it in the app's Settings > About.

Our tech folks are working on a fix that should be gradually released in the upcoming days. Some of you might have already received the update - the rest stay tuned! In any case, feel free to let us know if everything looks good on your end after updating the app.

Cheers!
