Playlist Name Changes Recommended Songs?

My Question or Issue

I often make themed playlists that all but require me get a few songs in there, then hunt around with the recommended or "X Radio" features

The issue I keep having is that if I name the playlist, that name takes precedence when recommending songs over the actual playlist content.

(Ex: A Folk playlist that had "Sweet" In the title had more recommended songs related to keyword "Sweet" in other genres than folk music)

Right now it seems if I change the name to something else, then change it back, it gives me actual recommendations. But it's still super weird, and it's been happening pretty consistently at this point.

Now I don't work at Spotify and don't know exactly how it's supposed to work, but I don't think this is a bug, but I guess Spotify actually thinks you want recommendations to words you use. I recommend going to the ideas page if you would like this to change. Unfortunately, there probably isn't any easy way to change this for you.

I’m having the same issue. Huge pain, and a really stupid way to determine recommended songs. A lot of the reason I’ve stuck with Spotify is for the recommended songs that are similar to your playlist. Guess I’ll be moving on to Apple Music.

The number and type of Recommended Songs at the bottom of your playlist can vary, depending on how much variety of styles you have in your playlist as well as it's title.

When using the mobile app, you can browse through different genres for suggestions by tapping ADD SONGS at the top of your playlist and swiping right to view the other pages. For full info on this, we recommend visiting this support page and checking out the section under Need some inspiration?

If this is something you'd like to be able to do with the desktop app, you could have a look in the Idea Exchange, to see if someone else has already submitted an idea for this, and if not post your own.
