My Question or Issue
A little while ago, I made a large playlist of about 800 songs. On desktop the playlist lasts more then 50 hours, but on mobile it doesn't go past 32 hours, 20 minutes. No matter how many songs I add it just doesn't update. I've tried deleting and reinstalling spotify as I read in another topic, but that didn't change. Now this isn't a big problem but it just kind of infuriates me so I'd like it if there could be a fix for this...

Hello, new person, similar case!
I made a playlist tonight Merging a dozen or so liked playlists into one supermassive one. On desktop, this playlist is 10,000 songs and runs for 854.5hrs, whereas on my Pixel 6, runs for 57hrs. I run the premium student plan, link and images are attached.
I logged out on both devices, and I've clean uninstalled and installed twice now.
The link only grants the 765 songs from mobile, but on pc plays the full 10k
Hi there @EthanBrennan,
Thanks for the post.
I tried opening the playlist "Don't you cry tonight" both on Desktop and mobile, but both apps show me 765 songs 57h39m runtime.
What happens if you play the playlist on your Desktop app, go to song 667 for example, play it and then switch over to your phone. Does the same playlist keep playing or does the phone app show the song, but not as part of your playlist?
Also, it appears that the playlist in question doesn't show up on your profile. Do you mind adding it to your profile to check if this will update it?
Looking forward to your reply.
I'm also having this issue. It's with a playlist I have with 12 other people. I have uninstalled and reinstalled the app, logged out twice as recommended, but it still hasn't worked. This playlist has about 1500+ songs in it but it only says 29h 56m. And the suggestion of just making a new playlist wouldn't work because I have so many other ppl on this playlist and thats the fun of it.
Hey @virydian,
Welcome to the Community and thank you for joining the conversation.
To continue investigating your case, would you mind checking on a different device (using your own account) to see if it makes any difference? If you don't have another one available, you can borrow one from a friend or family member to test it out.
Also, we understand you’ve already tried some troubleshooting steps, including reinstalling, but to be sure that we're on the same page - did you use the steps for a clean reinstall mentioned in this article?
Lastly, since this issue could be related to different factors depending on the device, include in your next response the make, model, and OS version of your device, along with the Spotify version you're currently running.
We'll be on the lookout.
Didn't mean to send that twice, haha.
Did the clean reinstall. Didn't help ;(
I checked my account on my desktop. It just says "over 24 hr" (1793 songs), which is fair, technically it is. But on mobile its still super wack idk.
I started playing the song from my desktop as recommended, and it did update the time on my phone from 29h 56m to 108h 25m.
Ok.. I stopped playing the playlist and on my phone played a different playlist and looked back, and it switched back to 29h 56m.
Hi there @virydian,
Thanks for the reply. We did some extensive testing on our end and can confirm that if you're using the free service, this is the expected behaviour. If you use Premium, the full length of a playlist is shown.
Hope this clears things up.
Same! My Playlist froze at 27 hours and 54 mins. But if I delete an old song it gets longer which confuses me. Spotify please fix.
Yeah, I really hope it gets fixed 🙏 It's pretty annoying and confusing, haha
I have 710 songs in my playlist and it stopped updating the time of the playlist at like 600 songs. It won't update and it is frozen at 28h and 54 min even though the songs are adding to the playlist. How do I get this fixed?
This has been happening to me recently and it says I'm stuck at 495 songs and 26h and 45min. When I go to add a new song to my Playlist it says I'm at 689 songs and 2 episodes. Please reply if you're able to help me fix this, I would appreciate it a lot.
I also have the same problem, my playlist has about 2200 songs but the play list says it only has 27h 20m but it had said that same time when I had 900 songs. Please reply soon.
