Please allow us to shuffle one album at a time without needing to add it to our library

Please allow us to shuffle one album at a time without needing to add it to our library

Please allow us to shuffle one album at a time without needing to add it to our library.

Sometimes, I want to listen to a specific album from an artist. And I want to shuffle the songs.

1. I make sure to click on the album itself and not keep the entire discography open.

2. When I play/shuffle the album, it won't play the entire album. It plays a few songs and then skips to recommended songs.

3. I do not have other music queued. If I turn off smart shuffle (which I do NOT want to do), it just stops playing the album after a few songs.

4. I should not have to turn off smart shuffle, meant for playlists, to shuffle an album

The workaround is to add the album to my library. I don't want to have to do that every time. Sometimes, it's just an album I'm checking out that's new. It's annoying to have to add it and then remember to remove it to avoid clutter.

Hey there, @Bridget8,

Thanks for reaching out! Heads up: I've moved your post to the Help boards as it fits better here.

⚠️ Note that Smart Shuffle is supposed to add similar song recommendations to the queue. That being said, it should only be available for playlists though - it will be deactivated when listening to albums, in which case the recommended songs might be coming from Autoplay instead. Autoplay generates a new queue of recommended songs when the album/playlist finishes playing so that the playback doesn't stop. It can be disabled in the app's settings.

You might have also had some leftover tracks in the queue from a previous listening session. You can remove those via the Clear queue button. There's more info in the article here.

In any case, I'd recommend double-checking if you're listening to an album or a playlist. To make sure you're listening to an album, try tapping the three dots menu of a song > selecting Go to album and playing it from there so that only songs from that particular album are added to the queue. You don't need to have it saved in Your Library either.

If the issue persists, please share a short screen recording which captures the described behavior in action so we can take a closer look at what's happening on your end.

Cheers 🤘
