My partner and I have shared a playlist for nearly a year that we put songs in that we both like. We probably had up to 200 songs in the playlist... until today. Some random account added 11,000 songs to our playlist. To be fair, the playlist was public, but we named it something unique enough to us that we assumed no one would find it and mess with it. Is there a way I can go in and mass delete all of the new songs? Or do we just have to start over? We are not using Duo or anything, I have a premium plan and she uses a free plan.

Hi @Allison24,
Thanks for posting in the Community and welcome.
Only Collaborative playlists can be edited by other users, and each user needs an invite from the owner to be able to join. So first, we'd recommend removing the unknown collaborator who added the songs. The owner can do it by following the steps here.
On another note, the owner of the playlist can also remove the added songs. If you want to remove them all at once, try it from the desktop app or Web Player. Head over to the playlist and select all the songs while pressing Shift. Or select one song, then scroll up or down to the last song and select it while pressing Shift. This will select all the desired songs, then right-click > 'Remove from this playlist'.
Let us know how that goes or if you have any questions.

Hi I´m from Brazil. I don´t know why but suddenly all my songs from my playlist was deleted and replaced by another 1000+ songs from an user called 'foryou". I have any Idea what that is. And more: all of these songs are sleeping songs (lol). How can I delete all of these songs from "foryou" and have my playlist back?
Thanks!\
You can go to each artist and choose do not play this artist. “Foryou” only used a few artists so it’s pretty fast.
Today I discovered that my favorite playlist that I had opened as collaborative for my friends sake (first mistake i guess) had over 10,000 songs added to it by a random user. I am the owner of the playlist so I can remove the songs, but to go through and click remove over 10,000 times is simply unrealistic. Does anyone know how to remove these songs quickly? Maybe by filtering by user/day added/etc.?
The exact same thing just happened to me - 11,000 random songs suddenly appeared on my favourite playlist. So frustrating. Looking for answers when I saw this.
G'day Guys,
A account called "for you" has gone onto my playlist called boar touring & deleted over 6 years of individually picked songs.
24 hours of music deleted & added over 332hours of unknown music.
My phone has then downloaded all of this music.
Can someone please help.
My kids' favorite playlist that I've been keeping up with for six years had 10,000 songs added to it and all I can figure out so far is to delete one song at a time. I. Am. **bleep**.
I literally just had this happen to me (the random users name is ‘foryou’ — is this who did it to you?). There is a way to sort the playlist by recently added (if you swipe down while looking at the top of the playlist, you have the option to sort). Once you do that, you can scroll all the way down to the bottom, and then select the songs one by one that you added and add them to a new playlist. Time consuming, but not sure of a better way. Good luck!!
You can go to the playlist and at the top select sort and sort by recently added and click on the three dots. Select go to artist. Hit the three dots again the. Select don’t play and it’ll remove the songs. It’s quicker than deleting each song.
Hey! So some random user has added hours upon hours upon hours of the same few albums over and over again to my best and biggest playlist and has actually capped the amount of music I can add. Is there a way to delete all of their stuff solely? Or do I have to do it individually? Can admin help? I've blocked the account now but I'm hoping someone knows how to help
Hi there!
I'm sorry that this happened. Was this a collaborative playlist with the link shared publicly?
On the desktop and web apps, you can select multiple tracks at once by selecting one, scrolling to the last one you wish to select, and holding Shift while you click. Just like selecting multiple files in a file explorer. You can then right-click and select 'Remove from this Playlist'.
Keep in mind this is only possible on the desktop and web app, on a computer. You can access the web app here.
I hope this helps!
You are a literal lifesaver. Thank you so much, worked like a charm! Yeah I hadn't shared it but I didn't realised it was still in collaborative. Turned that off right quick ahah. Thank you for your help, made my day!

My Question or Issue
A random account somehow became a collaborator on a family playlist and spammed in around 4500 songs. We have no idea how this happened. The playlist is public, but I don't think that means that anyone can just become a collaborator.
This is the profile of the user who put in the songs: https://open.spotify.com/user/316m6yzwpxaykzpyjtsc3szbjspe?si=11f28f082d324bf6
I removed the guy as a collaborator, but not only did the pretty much ruin the listening experience, which means we'll have to build the original 300 song playlist from scratch, but also raises quite a few security and privacy concerns, as to how somebody can just make themselves a collaborator to any public playlist and trash it by spamming their music.
Photo attached as well.
This just now happened to me, with my personal playlist that has not been opened to collaborators and I just fixed manually twice this morning. wth is going on and who is messing up my playlist???????
I have someone in my open playlist who has entered 10.000+ numbers.. I have blocked the account but how do I remove the numbers?
Hi, how to delete a contributor and all his contributions. Someone just came dumping 10.000 songs in my playlist...
