You should add the feature to type a specific song in a search box that would find that same specific song in you playlist. Sometimes I add an entire playlist to my playlist and some of the songs that I didn't notice do not match the theme of my playlist. So when I come upon an out of place song, it would be easier to search for it within the playlist and remove it rather than scrolling through 21 hours worth of songs for that single one.

Hey @MaHe1970,
Thank you for your reply in this thread. Apologies if there is any confusion created on our end.
The screenshot with the little triangle that @AlejaR posted earlier is from Spotify Desktop app. It's for sorting in playlist on this platform. You're not going to see "the triangle" on your mobile app. There you should see only "Sort".
Search feature though is the same on all platforms. "Find in playlist" feature is visible when you swipe down in the playlist that you've created. You can quickly and easily type the song's name or artist's name in order to find what you're looking for. In addition, if you'd like to find songs that you've added to this playlist recently - you can sort it by "Recently added".
Hope this clear things up. If you need anything else, the Community is here for you.
Hey @Raven_exe,
Thanks for posting in the Community and welcome.
We hope you don't mind us moving your post out of the ideas section to one of our Help boards as it fits better here. That being said, we'd like you to know that the suggestion you kindly posted, is already implemented in app.
So, to search for a specific song in a playlist, you have two options. If you're using the desktop app, you can hit the search icon at the top of the playlist and write down the name of the song you're looking for. It looks like this:
You can also hit the album art of the song playing in the desktop app, and you'll b taken to the position of that song in the playlist you're listening to.
On the mobile phone is similar. You'll find the search bar by selecting the playlist and scrolling down. The search bar looks like this:
You'll only see it by scrolling down. You can also locate the song by hitting its name at the top of the Now playing view. You'll be redirected to the song's position on that playlist.
Hope this clears things up. If you have any questions or need a hand with anything else, we're always a post away.
Hello,
I wanted to post the same request and found this switch. However in your answer is something strange. I can not select anything in my search box other than just enter the title. My search box does not have a little triangle like the one shown in the picture. So the question remains how can you quickly and easily find a song in your own playlist using the search function? Best Regards

I want to be able to search for a song within my collection, to identify which playlist I put it on. For instance, I'm trying to remember which playlist it was that I had "Lose Yourself" by Eminem.
Hey @pattyleetx,
That's a nice suggestion!
I'd recommend taking a look at this Live Idea we have over here.
Hope you'll like what you'll see 🙂
Cheers!
It should be easy to search for a song with them the whole library. But spotify does not provide such festure. Please add this feature to Spotify. Of course sometimes we do not know which playlist a song is in. We should be able to search for a song within all playlists…
Is there any progress in searching for a specific song in my library, e.g., between playlists?
Or any workaround? Or a reason why this is not doable? Thanks
