Unable to play song on mobile phone, but it plays on laptop

Hi there,

I am on a Premium plan and have downloaded a song from my computer (which I had purchased elsewhere as it's not available on Spotify). The song plays on my laptop, but is greyed out on my phone (iPhone 7) and will not play from there. I have downloaded the playlist to play offline from my laptop, and it is synced except for this song.

Please help as this song is so important to me!

There has been a recent change and the synchronization between files from PC and your mobile devices over the network is no longer available. 

The audio file, that you want to play within the app, needs to be physically present on your iPhone's storage in order to be played by Spotify. Once you upload this song on your device, you will be able to enjoy it while offline. If you don't know how to do it - check out this article, click on iOS and you will find detailed steps.
