Hey @TimE1,

Thank you for reaching out here in the Community!

Could you try logging out and back in again a few times? This sounds a bit odd, but it forces a sync between the account and your device. You can also clear the cache of the app with the steps here.

On another note, could you let us know if this happens across devices or only on a specific one? Also, we'd like to know if this happens with only one podcast or with multiple ones.

It'd also be great if you could tell us the make, model and OS version of your device along with the Spotify version you're currently running. If you don't know how to check it - go to this FAQ.

We'll be on the lookout!

I use the latest spotify app for germany and the ios version 16.1 on an iphone model 12 mini

Hey there @TimE1

Thanks for getting back to us.

Just to confirm, is this happening with multiple podcasts or only with the one you mentioned? If it only happens with that specific podcast, could you send us its URI? We'll take a closer look.

On another note, would you mind checking if the same happens on a different device?

We'll be waiting for your reply.

Hey this happens on different accounts and different devices. I have tested it on android and ios windows and macOS. Also on different accounts, also on test accounts from Spotify support.
If you subscribe to several podcasts and mark all old podcast episodes as played in order to clean the mobile version playlist “new episodes” the bug appears.

By subscribing to 7-10+ podcasts and marking old versions as played this bug appears on all accounts.

Hey @TimE1,

Thank you for keeping in touch and for the info you shared.

We've passed this on to the relevant team at Spotify and will let you know as soon as we have more information regarding the issue.

We appreciate your cooperation and understanding.

Cheers!

Hey @TimE1,

Thanks for your patience.

The right teams are actively working on this, but we can't commit to a specific timeline for the issue to be fixed. For now, we'd recommend keeping your app up to date.

If anything else comes up, the Community will be here.

Cheers.
