My Question or Issue
on my laptop, one of my playlists, and only one, no longer shows track numbers, and has infilled that column (the first) with a "minim". the column header still shows a hash sign. the playlist is quite old and often changed, and has 90+ tracks, so the numbers were really important. other playlists still show numbers.
Hi there @drofyb,
Thanks for reaching out. Does this playlist lack the track numbers across all devices? Is this only for you or is it like this for other people that view it too? If you create a new identical playlist and copy the songs over, does it work then?
Let us know so we can look into this.
Hey @drofyb,
You can have over 10,000 tracks in a single playlist, so that's not it. I'd recommend performing a clean reinstall of the app - this will clear any data that might have been corrupted. Your library won't be affected, so no worries there.
In case the issue persists, check if the same error occurs on the Web Player as well. If possible, try logging in to your account on another desktop device to see if there's a difference. A screenshot which captures how the error looks would also be greatly appreciated.
Keep us posted on this. Cheers!
Hi Yordan,
sorry for delay, been unwell.
I solved my problem, just now ! this playlist has tracks deleted and added all the time, so I wondered whether any of the newer additions had caused track numbers to disappear for whatever reason. So I deleted the ten newest tracks and hey presto the numbers returned ! So, I have a corrupt track(s) which I can hunt down at my leisure.
Thanks moderators, I should have tried this from the start, but didn't think it would be that simple, usually isn't !
John
Hey @drofyb,
Thank you for keeping in contact.
We're glad to know that everything is working fine now. I did some testing on my end as well, and I realize that the number of songs may disappear from the playlist if you add a podcast episode to it. If this happens again, make sure to remove any podcast episode within the playlist 🙂
We appreciate the time you took following the process and sharing what works for you.
If anything else comes up, don't hesitate to ask.
